DIY Calligraphy : Addressing Wedding Envelopes

Addressing envelopes becomes a little tricky when you have a handwriting like mine. And believe me, its bad. On a scale of 1-10, 1 being a “calligrapher’s handwriting” and 10 being a “handwriting of a kid who has just started writing” , I would rate myself 11 🙂

I had two options :

1. Pay a professional calligrapher (they really don’t come cheap).

2. Cheat!

And I cheated 🙂 ( Thanks to weddingbee )

I got myself a nice font from dafont.com, printed the address in gray on the envelopes. I took a calligraphy pen that I got from Michaels and just traced on them.

With this faux calligraphy technique , you can get the results of a professional calligrapher for free and have fun at the same time!
